Our Calling
Beginning a relationship with the Living God is the best thing that has ever happened to us, and it is our desire to participate in giving others the same opportunity.
God used the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ to bring about profound life change in us, and our heart for reaching other college students grew in turn. We wanted to invest in students with the best hours of our day, and joining Campus Crusade was a natural next step in our spiritual journey.
Why Students?
The college campus is one of the most strategic places to invest in reaching the world for Christ because its students are 1) spiritually open, 2) in the process of making decisions that will set the course of their lives and 3) the people who will lead and influence our world for years to come.
There are so many things on today's campus that compete for the minds and hearts of students, and now more than ever there is a need for the light of Christ to shine in the marketplace of ideas.
Our Ministry
We've had the privilege of serving full-time together with CCC since 1995. Our first assignment was Virginia Tech, where we worked with an incredible staff team and saw God grow the movement from about 100 students to over 400 in five years. In addition to sharing our faith with students regularly, Carri and I focused on building up believers in their faith and equipping them for personal ministry. A number of them now work with us as CCC staff, while others have gone on to serve Christ in the Church or the marketplace.
In 2001 we were challenged to take on leadership roles that would allow us to have a broader impact in ministry while meeting critical needs on the regional level. Somewhat by faith, we followed God's leading to the Philadelphia area to serve on the Mid-Atlantic regional team. As always, God's plan for this chapter of our lives was perfect, and it has been a wonderful fit for our family in so many ways. After all, if we hadn't taken this step of faith we wouldn't have had the opportunity to bring precious Jacob into our home!
I love Campus Crusade's utilization of conferences because whether it's a student event or a staff event, it affords an opportunity for Jesus to have our full attention so that He can work in our lives.
I currently serve as the region's conference director, where I help lead events like the DC Christmas Conference that are designed to help students draw closer to Christ and listen to His voice. I love being able to invest in conferences that God has used year after year to call students to a life of surrender and service.
I also serve as a web designer, using technology to help advance the cause of Christ, and volunteer at Everystudent.com as a resource to students who are searching for the answers to life's questions.
After working on the HR team as a coach for new staff, Carri is now living out a dream she has had for years: being a Mommy! Raising Jacob full-time has been one of the most challenging and rewarding ministry experiences of her life. It's been so fun to see her in this new role, living out one of the greatest desires of her heart!
